Our foreparents thought that dragons swallowed the Sun or the Devil darkens the Moon. Thankfully, to our enlightened intellect that spurred on scientific development we know that is not true. Elliptical orbits of our Earth around the Sun and the Moon around the Earth offer us an excellent opportunity to look up into the skies and within simultaneously.
As an Analytical Psychic Astrologer, intellectually driven Astrology brings the facts and observational measurements of our Cosmos. Tarot and mythology offer the stories centered in our brains' right hemisphere.
Our foreparents also didn't know that the Moon was 400 times closer to our Earth than the Sun, while our radiant life giving Sun was 400 times larger. Therefore, deep within our souls is a collective memory of the effects of our nighttime protector, the Moon.
Five days out of each solar month, the Moon gives her full, although diffused, light. She appears as large as the Sun. It's not a stretch by any means that She affects the tides, and we are water based beings. Our solar light (which ought not burned or wasted given our Protestant leanings) differentiates, rationally and impartially--like in 'God We Trust', so do we in our intellects and 'just the facts'.
Our Lunar light often goes unexamined until there's a break in our routines. The Moon runs our subconscious--those behaviors that process our inner workings of our emotional and physical bodies.
The more our inner lives go unexamined, the more power the Moon has---be that 'what goes around, comes around' or 'chickens coming home to roost'---universal truth of collective, family, racial and relationship karmas and Libra go hand in hand, especially during an eclipse. Reflecting upon March 25, April 8 and September 17 can illuminate these intense themes of 'I' and 'We'.
Solar Eclipses asks that we leave our past behind.
