You may have heard that no planets have been in retrograde motion since April 12, when Joy & Love Goddess Venus went direct. True.
IRL (In Real Life aka what experiences manifest through our five senses), we can easily fall prey to our ego's overconfidence. In our busy Western World, this translates in putting too much on 'our plates'. Unless we are in a perpetual state of 'doing' which is masculine, egocentric and separating energy, we lean into our 'control freak' sides of our nature.
Venus, though, asks us to slow down, integrate our 'doing/yang/ego' into our 'being/yin/soul natures. In a passion project of mine (along with Tavish Carduff), Our Raw Material (ORM) seeks each of us to access our wholeness---a state we describe as every moment is perfect and complete when viewed from our soul's perspective. We ask what are the lessons learned, how does a pause--taking a breath to see how every moment in our lives serves our personal and collective evolution?
In essence, astrology asks us to look up, ORM asks us to look within. Venus inspires us to value our inner truth, voice aka intuition. When Venus (Values & Ideals/Pillar Seven in ORM) joins Saturn (Our Karmic Teacher) in Mystical Pisces, we are all on notice that an era is ending. You've been, channeling the spirit of an ostrich to ignore or deny how our structures are breaking up to transform. Some stargazers point to the end of the Pisces Age to bring the Aquarian Age into being. (Ages last approximately 2160 years---so cusps matter). From 'I Believe' (as in original sin & illusion of separation from Cosmic Unity) to 'I Know', Pisces to Aquarius, respectively. We are living symbolic waters of interconnected vision of illusion to knowing through experience and transparency, how we are of one mind and heart. Too lofty?
At present, I am being 'pushed' to write this blog post faster with AI tools. However, this near-boomer's heart simply isn't in it. Once you feel your heart's authentic intelligence through that marvelous physical body you inhabit, you'll want to begin and luxuriate there---first. Saturn (caution) and Venus (love) ask for 'slow love'.
Look over your life since March 2023. Saturn had just moved into Pisces. This is one of his most uncomfortable 2.5-year movements in his 29-year cycle (you've heard of the Saturn return; his role as 'timekeeper' initiates all of us into adulthood).
In Greek Mythology, Aphrodite/Venus was born from the severed genitalia of Uranus. Saturn/Cronos cut off his father's generative force. Aphrodite (sea-form) showed up on the half shell (Botticelli's portrait). The future and past have to be unified or Uranus and Saturn have to seek to be integrated or equalized (Venus).
With Uranus moving through Venus ruled Taurus until July 7, 2025 and Saturn in Absolutely Loving Pisces (also intimately connected to Venus) until May 24, 2025, we have an exceedingly unique opportunity to evolve individually and collectively.
Let's begin within our physical bodies and our five senses (although I am aware & awaring that we have been using multiple 'invisible' senses more transparently since Uranus, Neptune and Pluto discoveries in 1781, 1846 and 1930, respectively).
Saturn asks that we start in the third dimension of time & space---first.
The following has an illusory hierarchy for methodical study and discussion.
Hearing triumphs over the others (sight, smell, taste and touch)---as we hear first through our mother's womb and our 'inner truth' or intuition, yes?
These signs have more potential assets from hearing:
Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces), along with Capricorn and Virgo (Taurus when their egocentric attachment to their values has been surrendered). Geminis can surprise us with their attunement to hearing 'what's not being said'. The other two air signs have increased opportunities to 'hear' intention behind your words, as sound travels through the air.
Please understand this does not make the fire signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius less than when it comes to this sense of hearing. We have all 12 signs available to us when we begin to see Astrology from a perspective of unity and oneness---hence the Wholeness Pillar in ORM! It's only that fire signs often depend upon sight first, be that energy through auras and body language, or what you're wearing and breast size and/or tight abs, you get the picture (all puns def intended lol).
Smell ranks a close second with the Learning Reasonableness Air signs of Gemini, Libra & Aquarius. However, through the sense of smell, these signs are likely to differentiate and gaslight, as we have done so expertly in our western world---deodorant, cologne, body spray and shaming women's natural cycles of generation and decay aka menstruation and menopause. It'll take a mature turn of integrity and pragmatism (probably from the Neptune in Aquarius generation--1998 to 2012) to collectively transform this judge-mental use of this sense.
Water signs will aid in this transition too, as this element tends to see our interconnectedness first, and, like tenderness, they apply a little bit of compassion first.
Sight falls almost exclusively to the fire signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. When this element complements your looks, they are almost always talking about your "energy" or "vibes"... The air signs can easily be complicit too, as they are the most observational of the four elements...
Let me remind you that we contain all 12 elements within us---this is a major centralizing tenet of Our Raw Material. Therefore, I'm not ignoring or downplaying the earth (Taurus, Virgo & Capricorn) and water signs (Cancer, Scorpio & Pisces) as it comes to sight. Touch and taste come into play for your internalizing and individualizing natures.
Physical touch and taste simply apply to the earth element. Physical distance and where you're touched is extremely important in determining the level of intimacy desired---eight hugs a day? I'm reminded of the first hit of Taurus Luther Vandross entitled 'Never Too Much'...yep, it can be that simple for the earth element, be that touch or food or any physical pleasure. And, before the other three elements judge, know that when your Sun sign radiates through an earthy season, you were born to learn how to make joy and love matter---
"Stopping to smell the roses" and "The way to a man's (or no to less cooking person's) heart is through their stomach," these statements offer a foundation of shared truth for a reason. They demonstrate the complexity of integrating ALL of our senses, which circles each of us back to 'hearing'.
Hearing acts as a bridge between our visible and invisible worlds.
Do you pause before acting? Do you hear what your body is saying? Do you breathe through difficult feelings? Do you contemplate your thoughts? Do you spend time as the Tao-Te-Ching says, "daily diminishing your egos"? Or as the Ignorance Pillar (#4) in ORM instructs, where do you not know about someone else's behavior or intentions? Can you allow and breathe into what you do not know?
Whether our egos like it or not (and where we've chosen to be narrow), our invisible world connects us.
Venus and Saturn in Pisces inspire us all to offer grace to everyone we meet. We are all equal on this wheel of karma.
