Taurus Season--Yin On Top

Real women & Mother Nature have curves---no straight lines for the Goddesses. Look at the circular deck aka Mother Peace symbols versus the binary 'traditional Tarot'. Almost 40 years old this deck created by Vicki Noble pioneered how we read these symbols. No longer right side up or reversed, the circular shape gave us nuance (and people of all colors and races were represented. She also changed Kings to Shamans--to include queer, two spirited and those who were called to transcend gender dynamics. It was an awakened way to dismantle the patriarchal system that had been mirrored by the Tarot.

While Taurus asks us to explore the pleasure/pain cycle of our physical bodies, through its complementary sign of Scorpio, social bonds and gender roles are explored through physical/sexual union. 'Connecting the hearts, before the parts' is a maxim learned in exuberant Leo and carried to the genitalia in Scorpio. Taurus muses 'what have you done for me lately?' and can be masturbatory when there has been shame introduced into the sexual act. In essence, you can feel used by these concentrated earth folx. They can lean into their prostitute natures. 'Gay for pay' or 'gold digger' are two examples of this energy gone bad from a 'respectful' societal perspective. Again these are from a more judge-mental perspective.

The Five of Pentacles can be an excommunicated person from a religious order or a family with differing beliefs. The outcasting of LGBTQ teens is real even in today's 'love is love' HRC mantra.---or families who have transgender members. Fives are associated with The Hierophant and Temperance---in their extremes they judge other people's values. In essence, it is what I glean when I counsel those to 'resist the temptation to confuse your personal preferences with universal truths.'

The Six of Pentacles realizes that we are not all born equal, but we are equal. We have an abundance of resources of gifts---not all are physical. However, this is an earth sign, so money is a focus. The scales on this card, though, speak to a weighing of more than money. It can symbolize giving freely in any area where you have more than enough. If you've learned a lesson of relativity in the preceding Five of Pentacles, then you've developed more compassion for those who seemingly have less.

All Sevens (regardless of suit) have an assessing quality to them. Using their sharp intellect to discern the most efficient and holistic uses of tangible resources is a central lesson to this card. Whether you're eight months pregnant or a farmer with a hoe to rid your garden of weeds, you know that all you can do is be patient (and hopefully accepting of the progress you've made. There's a diminishing of our ego and its attachments. There's no 'throwing the baby out with the bath water (pun intended). There's a humility in receiving constructive criticism...emphasis on the word 'constructive'.

Taurus no matter what gender seeks to embody a natural relationship to the physical world in which we all share--no guilt or shame. When it's consensual and feels good--taint nobody's business if I do. There's a natural law of reciprocity deeply rooted in this mid spring sign. Beltane or 'Maypole' was about exploring our attractions.
