SATURN IN CAPRICORN: TIME BE MY FRIEND

Twisted webs, amongst other things, learning to love your adaptations, these were some of Saturn?s favorite things for the last three years.? For the life of me, I could not remember from where the phrase ?time be my friend? originated.? Song lyrics, yes, but which song?? Expansive and scattered over mediocre jazz riffs, where the fundamentals of musical organization be overlooked, that?s Saturn moving through Sagittarius. ?For the record my resistant Detroit born ass did not want to Google these lyrics until I wrote more of this blog.

(The next two paragraphs were written AFTER I finally Googled ?time be my friend?.)

The past year has brought us a speeding up of reality testing.? What is real?? Where are the facts?? How can we be aspired yet stay grounded?? How many people have you lost because of an honest response?? Where can unified consciousness be lived out without staying in an unrealistic bubble?? The upcoming age of Aquarius demands that we redefine what friendship truly is and how it is acted out in third dimensional world of time and space.? So, how does ?time be our friend? and by extension, Saturn aid us, our collective and as a lawyer create civil space to enact legislation that is beneficial to all of us?

Saturn and Capricorn get their reflection (and hopefully, sensitivities of a song like ?Home? through their opposite sign and its ruler, Cancer and the Moon.? Our Moons represent our first homes (mother?s womb).? To convince time to slow up (building blocks of a healthy Saturn, methodical) and growing up to enter into the outer world to recognize friends whose value can be seen in the time spent with them (also Saturn and Moon working together).

Spirited, opinionated and fundamentalist with reductionist tendencies, that describes what has been happening from 2015 to 2017, December 19, to be exact.? After we seek and locate our philosophies that give life meaning, we ground.? We build around what we perceive will last: institutions, roads, legacies founded upon integrity.? It is important to note that Capricorn provides the legitimate collective agreed upon values and beliefs analyzed and tested in Sagittarius.

What you are searching for is searching for you.? These past three years have been like a rollercoaster ride, especially if you went from one diversion to another.? Sag can collect experiences, but not understand the meaning behind them.? The next three years (until May 2020) Saturn in Capricorn will not reward the ?glib? or ?cliched? answer based on some vague rationalizations of your past, be they failures or successes (chances are there?s a bit of both, as Sag energy is not nothing but alchemical).

Capricorn takes the aspirations of the previous fire sign of possibilities and tests these visions in the real world of time and space.? The Berlin Wall fell the last time Saturn visited him home sign of Capricorn.? These iconic words from the Great Communicator, Reagan ?Mr. Gorbechev, tear down that wall?! were spoken at the time where the taskmaster Saturn compelled us to unify.? Sag talks a good game.? Capricorn ensures physical collective action seen through corporations, laws and social mores enacted for conformity.? Public life (and hopefully, public lands) will be protected, enriched and encouraged.?? However, Cautious Capricorn when fear based sets up the government, ?the system? to benefit the few at the top.? Or as in the case of economic systems of belief to benefit as few as possible.? I think of the Castro revolution that brought in a country build on communist philosophy occurred while Saturn moved from Sag (economic philosophy) into Capricorn (Cuban Government).

Plainly put, sanctions are a Saturn trait.? Necessity, expediency and judgmental thinking are too.? We rationalize our behaviors out of what we consider to be a legitimate need.? We can too easily fall into negative patterns of thought and action.? Fearing the passage (and presumed waste) of time, we can act on unexamined traditions, follow bankrupt legacies or indulge our physical senses beyond our limits.

As the calendar has been our first relationship to laws of time, Saturn wants us to focus on our legacy.? Like the two faced Roman God, Janus, we can use one face to look and assess our pasts while using the others to hide our true response to those with whom we must work and live.? Or the other face can be attuned to a future where each person works at their vocation or at the very least gives their mature best to society.? Debts must be settled.? Discipline is a necessity where Saturn and Capricorn are concerned.? Time passes whether we like it or not.? Time passes more violently when we do not accept its impersonal qualities.? It happens to everyone.? Your response to time (and the corresponding aging process) marks your character.? How you treat those who have had more time on this earthly plane does too.

Let me introduce a forecast for Saturn in Capricorn.

Social planet in the transpersonal sign of Capricorn will require a broadening of how to act in public.? How to get beyond yourself and private ideas about how you were taught to believe life works for you and those who mostly resemble you.? Hierarchies, clans, classes, and yes, gender and race, those unexamined assumptions mostly based on outer appearance and how you?re treated when you leave your home.? Saturn in Capricorn, this time, will have the additional tear down transformative energy of Pluto also in Capricorn?how do you like death now?? How do you want your transformation served to you?? Is it still good to ya?? Oh, let?s place fear on our collective stove?s back burner.? Let?s look at what we have based our life on.? Before Pluto?s discovery in 1930, it was Saturn who carried the mantle of death, the scythe, and certainly as Father Time (Greek Chronos), these connections make sense.? However, since Pluto entry into Capricorn (2008-2024), we have had to look at how we feel psychologically about death and transformation vis-?-vis aging process, and more importantly how we treat our aging population.

I want to let you know this is about where I got depressed (which, by the way, is a very Saturn/Capricorn trait).? Reality is SO starkly revealed, necessity, lack and duty, that your joy can become squashed in an overly analytical process.? Yet, an acceptance of your responsibilities can lead to another kind of joy.? The joy that comes for a day of work or service, that?s meaningful and fulfilling.? I have this after I?ve seen many of my clients or responding to comments via Facebook or a blog I?ve written.? I love helping in an innovative and personal way.? So, when I reached writer?s block on this blog, I rewrote the 12 days of Christmas Quan Style (which if given enough encouragement, I will perform it):

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, some time with Quan Cherry

On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, two Scorpios

On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, three calm Cancers

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, four fire signs
